My sweet husband has taken up cycling. He's a passionate man so much so that the hobby becomes all encompassing. My mother once asked him about his woodworking and planes and got quite an earful. She had more patience than I have ever had or ever will and, well, that's why she's my mom. He tells me about his bikes and rides and derailleurs and chains and something called slime and well I kind of drift off at some point in the conversation and think, "he's awfully cute"... sigh.
Anyway, he has said to me that it is out of his comfort zone asking others to give... I think it is a good thing since the worst thing is that someone says "no." We all need to step out of our comfort zone once in blue moon. Do something that is unfamiliar...
He's also able to do all this cycling since he's been out of work since about the end of November. Laid off. He's needs something to do. He's worked on a few home improvement projects around the house. The DIY projects don't always fill the day and well, I'm kind of glad he has something else going on... or else, well, we would be eating dinner at 3 in the afternoon and in bed by 7.
