Today, I am thankful for this photo. We went on a hike near our house and unfortunately Ashleigh was really struggling that day. She was not into it at all. Here in this moment she found a little light and happiness and so have I. It truly is the little things...

Today, I am thankful for the necklace I wore on my wedding day. It is the same one that my mother's mother wore on her wedding day. Inside of the locket I have a photo of my grandparents. I treasure it so much.

Today, I am thankful for the tradition of going to my mom's house on Thanksgiving. Yes, we joke that it literally is the same exact meal each year but it has its comforts, too.

Today, I am thankful he has found a hobby that makes him feel like he's a kid again.

Today, I am thankful for this stool that Dave made many years ago. It helps the child reach the sink to brush their teeth. It helps me when I need something on the top shelf. Thanks little stool.

Today, I am thankful for his patience with the children when they ask to do something that requires extreme patience. I'm also thankful that he can make fire!

Today, I am thankful for a woman near our house that has backyard chickens.

Today, I am thankful for the song, "Camouflage" because my husband sings along with every word and it is hilarious!

Day 16

Today, I am thankful for that time of the day when both children are at school, Dave has left for work and it's just me at home. And it's quiet finally. I'm sure one day I'll long for the busy and chatter but right now I'm thankful for a little bit of stillness.

Today, I am thankful for the Grand Canyon. I can't even begin to describe it and yet, I think, it is indescribable. Our summer trip was absolutely worth it.

Today, I am thankful for surprising a little girl on her 8th birthday and seeing the look of "YES!" written all over her face as she opens her present.

Today, I am thankful for this good old dog. She doesn't fetch, she sheds like crazy, she's quite sloppy when she eats, but she's got the sweetest heart.
